Air India is the first airline in India to have received DGCA’s Design Organisation Approval (CAR 21), which allows us to make independent modifications to our aircraft interiors.
This initiative, in partnership with Tata Technology, is yet another step in Air India becoming self reliant with in-house design and interior modification capabilities, a step towards a better customer experience.
Air India is now the first Indian airline to obtain this level of authorisation, a step that significantly strengthens its capability to implement continuous improvements across its fleet.
The approval was presented on October 25, 2024, by DGCA Director General D.C. Sharma to Campbell Wilson, CEO and Managing Director of Air India, with senior officials from Air India and DGCA present.
“India’s aviation sector is on a growth trajectory and Air India is playing a leading role in it. The approval reaffirms our capabilities to maintain our fleet and commitment to enhance customer experience of our aircraft interiors. Campbell Wilson, Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director of Air India said.
