Job Purpose
Nominated by Air Arabia and endorsed by the GCAA to act on its behalf, this role monitors and manages the airworthiness function and audit procedures related to the Certificate of Airworthiness validation and renewal process of the assigned Air Arabia fleet. He/she is expected to perform duties in collaboration with the “Manager Quality Assurance” in line with Air Arabia approved standards and GCAA rules and regulations.
Key Result Responsibilities
Manages the complete aircraft physical audits, surveys and historical records review (log books, modification records, Airworthiness Directives, Damages assessment, Life limited components, mandatory placards and markings etc.) for the Airworthiness Review Certificate renewal on assigned fleet; supports the “Manager – QA” in managing the same for the non-assigned fleet.
Identifies and manages the fleet airworthiness review plan taking into consideration effective scheduling fulfilment for aircraft Continued Airworthiness.
Ensures there are no delays in planning/implementing corrective actions for non-compliance or in-accuracies in the Airworthiness Review that may affect aircraft airworthiness and/or possible aircraft safety.
Carries out necessary and timely checks on Air Arabia aircrafts to ensure compliance with Company’s approved policies and procedures required for aircraft airworthiness and acceptance by the GCAA and regulatory bodies; compares to original acceptance by OEM’s as needed.
Conducts and manages physical inspections and audits on Air Arabia and non-assigned fleets and ramp to meet the approved annual audit plan.
Identifies deficiencies in line with regulatory and OEM’s requirements and raises non-conformance reports to highlight findings accordingly.
Acts proactively, reviews root causes and assesses preventive actions and final acceptance of corrective measures; ensures rectifications and corrective measures are as per regulatory requirements prior to submitting for final certification by GCAA.
Key Result Responsibilities – Continued
Designs and develops necessary aircraft checklists, surveys, and documents as required by “CAR M”. Supports the Hubs by communicating necessary standards and documents required for audit purposes.
Conducts regular reviews on aircrafts documents to confirm legality and availability of all needed documents and highlight corrective measures (if any) ensuring timely actions are taken.
Acts on behalf of the “Manager – QA” to liaise with GCAA on “Airworthiness Review Certificate” issues, renewal, and recommendations including communication on changes in regulations, organizing regular meetings with the GCAA to provide updates and feedback on each assigned aircraft where necessary.
Assists in developing, implementing, and continuously improving “CAR-M, Sub-part I” related procedures in the Company’s Technical Procedures Manual (TPM).
Ensures comprehensive technical reports are produced; informs “Manager-QA and “CAR-M” Post Holder with trends or areas that may compromise aircrafts operation and safety where urgent attention and improvement are needed.
Maintains necessary records related to Airworthiness Review Certificate (ARC); ensures maintaining personal experience log to demonstrate appropriate recent continuing airworthiness management experience.
Coordinates, implements, and evaluates projects as advised by “Manager-QA” to enhance the safety of the Operations and Technical departments and thereby support them in achieving set goals.
Qualifications (Academic, training, languages)
Bachelor degree in Aircraft Engineering/Aeronautical/Auditing or equivalent; alternately an appropriate license in compliance with “CAR 66” from a recognized entity combined with 5 years of experience in continuing airworthiness.
Must have completed formal aeronautical maintenance training.
Must be approved/ eligible for approval by the GCAA as “Airworthiness Review Certification Engineer”.
Project Management certificate or alternately the proven corresponding working experience is nice to have.
Compliance, Quality Assurance, Auditing certificates and trainings are an added value and some may be treated as conditional for this role.
Professional membership of associations related to the Aviation/Airlines industry is a plus.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Advanced Excel and PowerPoint), Internet and Web Search.
Fluent in English Language.
Work Experience
Relavant working experience in continuing airworthiness in the aviation/airline industry is a must.
Extensive exposure to the CAA and regulatory bodies, familiar with all rules and regulations pertaining to the aircrafts maintenance and Airworthiness Certificates policies, procedures, manuals and licensing.
A very good knowledge and exposure on airline Engineering and Flight Operations, standard regulations.
Possesses an in-depth knowledge in documentation control systems.
Aircrafts technical knowledge and relative exposure to aircrafts maintenance requirements is a must.
Good knowledge in QA /Safety/Internal & External Audit practices affecting aircrafts continuing airworthiness.
Experienced in managing the continuing airworthiness of aircrafts in line with Manufacturers and OEMs standard requirements.
Experienced in designing procedures and manuals as per business needs and in line with adopted regulations and approved quality standards.
Analytical thinking, efficiency and commitment to successful results.
Proven skills in analysing data, identifying pitfalls and recommending corrective measures.
Effective team player capable of supporting teams of different functions.
